In response to the growing shortage of geotechnical engineers in North Idaho and the Inland Northwest, Samuel Sommers founded Inland Empire Geotech (IEG) to provide reliable, client-focused geotechnical consulting services. With over 14 years of experience, Samuel is dedicated to delivering innovative soil testing, foundation design, and geodesign solutions for a diverse range of projects.

His career began in the Seattle market, where he worked on multi-billion-dollar transportation infrastructure, wastewater treatment plants, and commercial developments. Since relocating to the Spokane – Coeur d'Alene region in 2019, Samuel has developed a deep understanding of the unique soil conditions in North Idaho and Eastern Washington.
